Amanita Guesthouse
Pelion Thessaly
Marianna and Filaretos Psimmenos created the AMANITA Guesthouse in Tsagarada in a truly privileged location between the mountain and the sea, on the eastern slopes of Mt. Pelion. Behind it rises the mountain, with its thick shady trees and flowing waters. The bright blue of the Aegean Sea stretches as far as the eye can see, dotted with the islands of Skiathos, Skopelos and Alonissos like crown jewels. All around is the verdant natural beauty of Tsagarada with its renowned paths, centuries-old trees and old stone fountains.
AMANITA Guesthouse is the ideal Mt. Pelion holiday destination, where the friendliness and coziness of a traditional home is combined with the amenities any good hotel has to offer. As it is situated approximately in the central part of the Pelion peninsula, it allows for excursions throughout both the north and the south side.
The guesthouse consists of three buildings: the three-storey main house, a two-storey outhouse and a cottage in the Herb garden. We offer 9 accommodation options, 5 of which are located in the main house (2 suites consisting of 2 rooms, 1 double room sea view, 1 double room mountain view and a single room), 2 self-contained, fully fitted 2-room apartments with their own kitchenette in the outhouse and 2 studios in the herb garden’s cottage.
We are striving to make AMANITA not just a charming place to stay, but also a place of inspiration and wellness. Our slow food breakfast includes hand-kneaded bread, dairy products supplied by small local producers, “farm to table” seasonal fruit and vegetables, homemade jams and local specialties such as pies and herby omelets. It gives you not only nutrient-rich organic food, but also time: for the family, for your relationship, for planning the fabulous day ahead. During the day you may walk or relax in our organic garden under the fruit trees next to the vegetable crops and enjoy the fragrances of lavender, thyme, mint and rosemary, swim in the crystal waters of one of the stunning beaches of the area, hike taking advantage of the scenic kalderimis – the old mule paths that once connected one Pelion village to another-, participate in our cooking classes or workshops about the properties and uses of healing herbs.
